Description:
Fuels Operations Manager - Los Angeles Wholesale Fuels company seeks a Fuels Operations Manager to work at their Los Angeles facility. The Manager has on-site day-to-day responsibility for safe and environmentally sound operation of a fueling terminal including personnel scheduling and management, tank and equipment maintenance, product receipt, transfer, storage and delivery as well as customer support/communications. Manages and directs terminal employees to receive, store and transship a variety of fuels and Motor Oils and operate a fuels blending system. Other responsibilities include: terminal construction projects, purchasing and regulatory compliance. This Manager controls maintenance and capital expenditures and supports corporate HS&E and business development departments. Terminal Manager must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well with customers, regulators, terminal operators, carriers, contractors and the community. Job Description ** Responsible for terminal operations in Los Angeles. ** Responsible for promoting a strong safety culture and work ethic within the terminal. ** Manages day-to-day operations including fueling activities, truck loading and facility maintenance. ** Directs and coordinates the activities of all terminal personnel and contractors. ** Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, evaluation and disciplining employees with company assistance and input. ** Responsible to liaise with company management on personnel records and payroll. ** Responsible for customer service, inventory and other reports, audits, investigating problems and making corrective actions when necessary. ** Responsible for compliance with government agency regulations pertaining to the storage and handling of hazardous bulk liquid products, including: waste disposal, transportation, safety, security, etc. ** Responsible for new construction or refurbishment improvement projects including: design, estimating, contracting, purchasing, inspections and start-up. ** Our client's local representative in the community. ** Our client's local representative on local HS&E committees like the spill coop. ** Our client's local representative for regulatory agencies like USCG, fire department, NCDENR, BATF, etc, with corporate HS&E department assistance and input. ** Must work well with corporate management to achieve goals and provide excellent customer service. ** Maintain terminal in such manner as always prepared for inspections. Client Preferences ** 10+ years experience in Fuels Terminal Management ** Truck Stop experience preferred ** Jet Fuel experience preferred ** Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required ** Excellent communication skills
