Description:Retail Controller - Convenience Company Information: Our client can trace it roots back to it’s humble beginning in 1989. Now a diversified company with operations in three primary business segments: petroleum servicing, fuel distribution and convenience store retailing Your Role with the Company: Manage accounting and auditing departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist operations, marketing, upper management, and its shareholders in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, complete A/P oversight, daily accounting duties, and help in preparing monthly financials with bank, general ledger, balance sheet, and P&L account reconciliations. Responsible for maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules and other related duties as required. Candidate would possess proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and PDI (preferred) with the ability to write clear, concise reports as necessary. Community Information: Waycross is the county seat of, and only incorporated city in, Ware County. in the U.S. state of Georgia. Waycross includes two historic districts (Downtown Waycross Historic District and Waycross Historic District) and several other properties that are on the National Register of Historic Places, including the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse, Lott Cemetery, the First African Baptist Church and Parsonage, and the Obediah Barber Homestead (which is seven miles south of the city). During the 1950s the city had a tourist gimmick: local police would stop motorists with out-of-state license plates and escort them to downtown Waycross. There they would be met by the Welcome World Committee and given overnight lodging, dinner and a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp. The tradition faded away after the interstates opened through Georgia Background Profile: Oversee the activities of the accounting and auditing departments for the accurate and timely production of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits. Provide monthly/quarterly information, as necessary, for the purpose of satisfying bank compliance requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting. Ten plus years of hands-on accounting managerial experience in a convenience store chain. Use of PDI Enterprise a plus.
