In both cases, they were honored for achieving “exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category”. Your Role with the Client: This hands-on Controller position will assume responsibility for all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures. In addition, this position has direct supervisory responsibilities within the Accounting department, and will serve as a coach and mentor for other positions within the department. Background Profile: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA preferred. Must have a CPA. 7+ years’ experience in a fast-paced retail accounting department. 5+ years’ experience managing Accountants or higher. 5+ years’ experience in a position equivalent to a Controller or Assistant Controller. Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills Experience with PDI Enterprise. Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements and government regulations. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite. Must have strong communication skills with the ability to interact and develop strong internal peer working relationships. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess a hands-on professional attitude. Community Information: Founded as a railroad town in 1881 by the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad, Temple, TX was incorporated in 1882 and named after a Santa Fe Railroad official, Bernard Moore Temple. Temple is situated within a relatively short drive of most of the major cities of Texas. Temple has developed as a small city with a number of arts and retail amenities not typically associated with a smaller community. The primary economic drivers are the extensive medical community (mostly due to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center) and goods distribution based on its central location between the Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston metro areas, and proximity to larger neighbors Austin and Waco.
